More about the garden:

We have an extensive collection of nearly 800 daylilies of all forms from hybridizers throughout the
United States. Unusual forms are a particular favorite here.
We have a special bed containing over 50 miniature and small varieties surrounding a fountain with an
additional 15 miniatures located throughout the gardens. Living in Kansas and in Wamego, known for it’s Oz Winery and museum, we have an extensive OZ collection of 33 daylilies located in the “Land of OZ” bed.
There is a Region 11 Hybridizer bed holding 51 recent introductions from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma
with another six new intro’s located in the front gardens. Other older introductions are interspersed
among the other gardens.
The current contenders on each year’s Garden Judge ballot are always marked on their name plates and maps are provided for visitors who are garden judges. During 2022, there were 91 daylilies from the ballot blooming in this garden.
We have a collector’s garden and currently grow over 250 different hostas, over 130 peonies, almost 200 different lilium and numerous iris and other perennials. We love to visit botanic gardens and appreciate having the plants identified by name and you will find that we label nearly all the plants so visitors know what they are looking at when they want to acquire the same plant.
