Executive Secretary

The AHS seeks an independent contractor to fill the staff position of Executive Secretary. This position serves as the Executive Secretary to the Board.

Advanced skills in working independently and creating and publishing Agenda Books are required.  The most qualified candidates are familiar with meeting protocols and taking accurate minutes, are very agile at using a computer, and have excellent organizational abilities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat are required. Travel to all in-person Board Meetings is required.

The Executive Secretary will provide their own computer, office equipment and telephone, Microsoft Office, anti-virus protection, online backup, and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.  Other office supplies may be reimbursed by AHS and may be further defined in the contract.  Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to current AHS guidelines.

Approximately 100 hours per year (two board meetings & two Agenda Books per year). Pay based on experience, with a requested start date of June 1, 2021.

Membership Manager

The AHS seeks an independent contractor to fill the position of Membership Manager. This position serves as the principal staff member taking care of AHS Membership details and processing, and is usually the first point of contact for current and prospective members and, as such, will be friendly, helpful, patient, courteous and prompt in all dealings with them.

Advanced skills in working independently, creating and managing online databases and expertly designing and running ad-hoc reports are required.  The most qualified candidates find it easy to provide great customer service, are very agile at using a computer, and possess excellent organizational abilities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, cloud-based applications (CRM solutions, Drop Box, WebEx, etc.) and other online services (e.g., Constant Contact, Vista Print, PayPal, etc.) are required.

The Membership Manager will provide their own computer, office equipment and telephone, Microsoft Office, online backup software, anti-virus software and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. AHS will provide a business phone number which will be routed through the Membership Manager’s own telephone. Other office supplies are generally reimbursed by AHS and may be further defined in the contract.

Approximately 15 hours per week, seasonally more October-March; approximately 750 hours per year. Pay based on experience, with a requested start date of June 1, 2021. Training on our existing membership tools will be provided.
