Bertie Ferris Youth Fund

Supporting Youth Education and Scholarship Opportunities

The Bertie Ferris Youth Fund supports programs and opportunities that encourage youth involvement in the American Hemerocallis Society. Contributions to the fund help support the publication of a youth newsletter and provide scholarships for eligible AHS youth members.

Through an application and selection process, the fund awards scholarships of up to $1,000 to qualifying youth members. For purposes of the Youth Fund, a youth member is defined as an individual under the age of 18.

The AHS Bertie Ferris Scholarship is available to AHS members who are no more than 19 years old and who have maintained at least two consecutive years of youth membership prior to the year the scholarship is awarded. Eligible applicants must be graduating high school seniors entering a college, university, or technical school, or high school students participating in a dual-credit program.

Applicants must plan to pursue studies in horticulture, botany, plant physiology, or another plant science-related field.
