Helen Field Fischer Gold Medal

The Society’s Highest Honor for Service

Established in 1950, the Helen Field Fischer Gold Medal is the American Hemerocallis Society’s highest honor and serves as the official recognition of distinguished and meritorious service to the Society at the national level. The award is named in honor of Helen Field Fischer, founder of the American Hemerocallis Society.

In most years, the award is presented to a single recipient; however, multiple awards have occasionally been given. A dual award presented to two members of the same family is considered a single award.

Nominations may be submitted by any AHS member using the Award Nomination Form and are forwarded to the Awards and Honors Chair for consideration. Nominations are due by September 1 for the following year’s award cycle.

The recipient is selected by secret ballot of the AHS Board of Directors at its annual Fall Board Meeting, and the award is presented at the following AHS National Convention.
