Regional Service

Established in 1974, the Regional Service Award recognizes individuals who have provided outstanding service to the American Hemerocallis Society at the regional level. An equivalent International Service Award may be presented to an international member in recognition of exceptional service outside the United States.

Currently serving members of the AHS Board of Directors are not eligible for this award. However, serving Regional Presidents are eligible for nomination. Nominees must either be living or have been deceased for at least 24 months at the time of nomination.

Only one Regional Service Award may be presented per region each year. A dual award presented to two members of the same family is considered a single award, and recipients may receive the award only once. Nominations may be submitted by any member within the nominee’s region. International nominations may be submitted by the AHS International Membership Chair.

Nominations must be received by the Awards and Honors Chair no later than September 1 and must include a summary outlining the nominee’s qualifications and contributions. Recipients are selected by secret ballot of the AHS Board of Directors at its annual Fall Board Meeting, and the awards are presented at the following AHS National Convention.
