Buffalo Trace Arboretum
More about the garden:
This 50 + acre garden is part of the Buffalo Trace Distillery a National Historic Landmark and has a rich history dating back to the 1930’s. Over the past many years, the gardens have been part of a project targeting rebuilding of the grounds. The Albert B. Blanton Botanical Gardens and Bird Sanctuary was dedicated as part of the first phase. Since that time, there have been many additions, bring with it the accreditation of being recognized as a level 2 arboretum. There are now over 1900 different taxa of plants.
Aside from the more than 450 different varieties of trees and shrubs on the property, Buffalo Trace is home almost 500 daylilies. Historic stone benches are scattered along the walkways, giving visitors the chance to rest while perusing the vast landscape.
